*I’m by no means associated with the Dead Kennedys, Jello Biafra or Alternative Tentacles, so please don’t sue me. I’m too poor to afford a lawyer. * Dead Kennedys Frankenchrist Track 10 – Stars And Stripes of Corruption Lyrics: Finally got to Washington in the middle of the night I couldn’t wait I headed straight for the Capitol Mall My heart began to pound Yahoo! It really exists The American International Pictures logo I looked up at that Capitol Building Couldn’t help but wonder why I felt like saying “Hello, old friend” Walked up the hill to touch it Then I unzipped my pants And pissed on it when nobody was looking Like a great eternal Klansman With his two flashing red eyes Turn around he’s always watching The Washington monument pricks the sky With flags like pubic hair ringed ’round the bottom The symbols of our heritage Lit up proudly in the night Somehow fits to see the homeless people Passed out on the lawn So this is where it happens The power games and bribes All lobbying for a piece of ass Of the stars and stripes of corruption Makes me feel so ashamed To be an American When we’re too stuck up to learn from our mistakes Trying to start another Viet Nam Whilke fiddling while Rome burns at home The Boss says, “You’re laid off. Blame the Japanese” “America’s back,” alright At the game it plays the worst Strip mining the world like a slave plantation No wonder others hate us And the Hitlers we handpick To bleed their people dry For our evil empire The drug we’re …

“Tell me who’s the real patriots the Archie Bunker slobs wavin’ flags or the people with guts to work for some real change” Wake up America. Re – elect No One.
@sindrole
This was an anthem to me when I was younger and it still rings to me today.
“We won’t destroy society in a day, Unless we change ourselves first, From the inside out”
A Liberatarion salute (of sorts) to you
The best Dead Kennedy’s song, I fucking love it so much..
It explains how much I feel about America, I think this country fucking sucks..
I hope to help out and make this a better country!!
i love the dead kennedys, but it took a while for this song to grow on. ha now that it has i fucking love it.
Its weird, I love america. I grew up here. And we do have great freedoms.
But it seems like hypocrisy has been our constant companion, from George Washington’s personal slave holdings to todays most privileged youth bitching moaning about injustice (berkeley college students) while the masses here work at wallmart and dont bitch but take it like men.
In the end I think that were just a flawed species.
the US punishment = Gestapo Biafra for President!
Let’s all go piss on capitol hill!!
these lancers r corrupt bunch of child molesters who got the law on their sides believe!!!
@conservanazi i dont think the founding fathers were on the battlefield….
Is it just me or does this song sound like I Kill Children?
@CapitalistOverlord the economic freedoms represented only part of what was fought for the revolutionary war. obviously, every man fought for his own personal reasons, but the point behind it for many was that britain didn’t know what the hell it was like the colonies, and yet chose to impose its will. they felt a division, and then felt pressured. basically, they left home. that’s how it goes.
internet + people – functional democracy
no need for goverments anymore , we are close to anarchy , its not imposible
@conservanazi
They fought for economic freedoms, which in all honesty, we already had.
Madison’s constitution was written to be changed, adapted to times and circumstances that he could not predict. That was its brilliance. “Returning to the Constitution” – what does that mean? Our whole system is completely founded on the constitution; we have never gotten away from the constitution. The moment we do, you’ll know: America will start looking a hell of a lot more like some kind of Orwellian dystopia than it does today.
There is no “human nature” (psychologically speaking). It is human BEHAVIOR.
But what is truely sad is the fact that our founding fathers really did risk their lives to provide freedom for this nation.
If our revolution against the king of england had failed, Ben Franklin And Washington and all the others would have been executed.
And look at how our crooked scumbag politicians crap all over the the constitution that so many patriots died to protect.
Its time for a DEEP CLEANING.
@inkblackRose
Sure, people are greedy. That’s the same reason capitalism doesn’t work.
Anarchy doesn’t propose an actual working system, just a system where people are free to propose their own system.
it is impossible — because of people. you cannot find a group of people who, when placed in a situation in which it would be easy to seize control and take more for themselves, would not do it. i am not a pessimist – but that is human nature.
i think this song is truly brilliant, and jello and the kennedys, by extension, are brilliant because they understand that. anarchy, socialism, communism – these are the systems for a utopia. this is not a world of perfect people. thus, imperfect system.
impossible?! i disagre, until we´ll try it we can´t say it´s impossible, the future is ours and we dont know what the futute brings…
@inkblackRose GREAT WORDS AND AWESOME INSIGHT!!!!Less government is the BEST government!!!!That’s what our Fore-Fathers fought and died for.Our Constitution is DEAD-SET AGAINST big government!!!!If you haven’t yet….listen to what Congressman Dr.Ron Paul has been saying!!!!The Man is a TRUE PATRIOT and a TRUE CONSTITUTIONALIST!!!!Our Constitution stands for FREEDOM!!!!And ANARCHY is TRUE FREEDOM!!!!!”POWER TO THE PEOPLE!!!!!POWER TO THE PEOPLE!!!!”~John Lennon

No, anarchy does not necessarily mean no organized education, though it does mean no government and hence no taxation. The important center of anarchy – that everyone is EQUAL, of the same value – is definitely preached in this song. Anarchy, however beautiful, is actually impossible, so this is for the next best thing: a country with a balanced government and citizens who think.
Also: religion is not necessarily mindless, that’s a generalization like “all punks are thugs” – clearly untrue.
people individually speaking should be their own masters..then a world would be in heaven . unfortunately people are nothing but zombies that leave their lives to someone else.. for example church
DK have confirmed in a lot of interviews that they are anarchists. And organized education doesn’t necessarily mean a state-organized one. Taxation can exist in a an anarchist society if its voluntary. The song speaks more about how the American Dream is ruined, and how we as a humanity need to look for better alternatives.
